Ylang Ylang smells intensely floral and sweet, with a creamy, almost fruity depth.
Steam-distilled from the yellow flowers of the ylang ylang tree, which grows in the tropics. The scent is lush and very present: one of the most distinctive floral notes in perfumery. One drop too many dominates a whole blend.
How to use it
- In the diffuser: 2–3 drops, very good with Bergamot or Wild Orange.
- As a personal scent: 1 drop in a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil, on the wrist or neck.
- Stir one drop into a neutral body oil.
- As a heart note in your own blends, used sparingly.
Good to know
- 15 mL in a dark glass bottle with dropper insert: at around 20 drops per millilitre, that is about 300 drops.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin; as a rule of thumb, 1–2 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil.
- Keep away from eyes, ears and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children.
