Turmeric smells earthy and dry-spicy, with a woody depth and a slightly bitter edge.
Steam-distilled from the rhizome of the turmeric plant. The scent is much less yellow-powdery than the kitchen spice and leans more towards root and wood. It suits other spice and wood oils well, and flowers less so.
How to use it
- In the diffuser: 2–3 drops, lovely with Wild Orange or Ginger.
- Diluted on the skin: 1 drop in a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil.
- As a spicy base in your own blends with citrus.

Good to know
- 15 mL in a dark glass bottle with dropper insert: at around 20 drops per millilitre, that is about 300 drops.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin; as a rule of thumb, 1–2 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil.
