Petitgrain smells green and woody with a fine citrus top note: fresh, but drier than a citrus oil.
It is distilled from the leaves and young twigs of the bitter orange tree, not from the fruit. That is why only the edge of the citrus remains: green and slightly bitter at the top, with a floral-woody base beneath. A classic ingredient in fresh men's fragrances.
How to use it
- In the diffuser: 3–4 drops, very good with Bergamot or Cedarwood.
- As a personal scent: 1 drop in a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil, on the wrist.
- Stir one drop into a neutral body oil.
- One drop on a cotton pad in the wardrobe or the gym bag.
Good to know
- 15 mL in a dark glass bottle with dropper insert: at around 20 drops per millilitre, that is about 300 drops.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin; as a rule of thumb, 1–2 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil.
- Keep away from eyes, ears and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children.
