Lime smells sharp, zesty and green: the most cutting note among the citrus oils.
Cold-pressed from the peel of the lime. Compared with Lemon, the scent is harder and greener, with a slightly bitter edge. It arrives instantly and fades relatively quickly, but holds up well when backed by a wood oil.
How to use it
- In the diffuser: 4–5 drops, very good with Wild Orange or Cedarwood.
- A few drops in the mop water for the kitchen.
- Diluted as a scent: 1–2 drops in a teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil.
- One drop on a cotton pad in the shoe cupboard.
- Whether this oil is approved for culinary use is stated on the bottle label. Follow the label.
Good to know
- 15 mL in a dark glass bottle with dropper insert: at around 20 drops per millilitre, that is about 300 drops.
- Never apply undiluted to the skin; as a rule of thumb, 1–2 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil. As is usual with citrus oils: keep the treated area out of direct sun for 12 hours afterwards.
- Keep away from eyes, ears and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children.
